Thai Yoga, or Thai Yoga Massage, is an ancient healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures. Although each experience varies, clients can experience deep relaxation, increased flexibility, release of tension and stress, increase in blood flow and energy, elevated mood or sense of well-being, better sleep, release of blocked energy, promoting healing, recovery, and vitality.
Traditional Thai yoga uses no oils or lotions. The recipient remains clothed during a treatment. There is constant body contact between the giver and client, but rather than physically manipulating muscles, the body is compressed, pulled, stretched and rocked through slow moving postures using gentle or firm pressure according to the clients’ needs. The recipient wears loose, comfortable cotton clothing (pants are provided, please choose a loose cotton t-shirt) and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor. The client will be positioned in a variety of yoga-like positions during the course of the session. The treatment generally follows designated energy lines in the body. The legs and feet of the giver can be used to position the body or limbs of the recipient. A full Thai yoga session may last two hours and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body. Shorter sessions of 60 or 90 minutes can be customized to address clients’ needs, while still providing a rejuvenating experience.

Yoga postures (asanas) are the practice of combining breath with movement to bring about strength, flexibility and balance to the body and mind. Private yoga sessions allow the student to receive an individualized practice based on where they are in life and their practice. Private instruction is a wonderful place for beginner students to start their practice as well as for more seasoned yogis to advance their practice. These private sessions allow the instructor to personalize the practice to each student’s specific needs.
