The Still Point Spa provides access to the best integrative mind and body services in the DC, MD, and VA area. To secure an appointment, we recommend you give us a call at (301) 920-0801 or book online. A credit card is required to hold all appointments. We will ask you your preferred date and time of treatment, as well as your provider preference.
Feel free to browse our service provider biographies on our website to get a feel for our amazing team and the variety of modalities we offer. You can also call our front desk to discuss your needs, and our Guest Coordinators will assist you in identifying an appropriate provider for a treatment.
We cannot accommodate walk-ins at this time. However, we do offer same-day appointments, as we are open 7 days a week. You can book these online or by phone.
To support the wellness needs of all guests, we have a firm policy for appointments that are changed or cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time. The full price for the service(s) scheduled will apply and be charged by the close of business on the date of the late, cancelled, or missed appointment(s).
If you are late for an appointment, your treatment will end on time so that the next appointment may begin as scheduled. Should this happen, your service will be charged in full. Thank you for making sure you book the best time that works for your schedule and giving us sufficient advance notice (i.e., a minimum of 24 hours) in the event you cannot keep your scheduled appointment. Your understanding in this matter is greatly appreciated!
Our spa is designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring comfort and ease for all guests. A handicap-accessible and lower-level service room is available; however, our staff are not allowed to lift individuals and/or walking aids onto tables. If such assistance is required, we ask that you please bring a personal care attendant with you to the appointment. Also, please let us know when making your appointment if you require special accommodation.
After making an appointment, and again 24 hours before your appointment, you will receive a link to our service intake form(s). The form(s) should be completed prior to arrival, as they are designed to address your specific needs and enhance your overall spa experience. Please be sure to include a brief medical history, past or present injuries, and/or other physical or skin conditions that we should be aware of prior to your spa service.
In preparation for your spa experience, please wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing, and be sure to bring a bottle of water with you, especially if you will be enjoying our healing infrared sauna. For spa treatments, undress to your comfort. Throughout your entire treatment, you will be professionally draped for your privacy. We think you are glamorous enough, so leave your jewelry at home. The Still Point is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Out of respect for those coming to relax in our serene atmosphere, children under the age of 11 are not permitted in the spa. Those aged 11-15 may have a spa service with a parent/guardian in the treatment room. Those aged 16-17 may have a treatment with a parent/guardian on property for the duration of the service. When scheduling services for younger guests, we always match them with a practitioner they (or their parent/guardian) feel most at ease with. This can include selecting someone of the same sex or gender identity if that is preferred.
Our address is 6 Grant Avenue, Takoma Park, MD, 20912. We are located on the south side of Grant Avenue, steps away from the Spring Mill Bakery, TSSP Co-op, and Cielo Rojo restaurant.
For your convenience, you will find a small parking lot behind the spa. If you do not find a spot available, please note signage and use street parking, where permitted. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early for your appointment to ensure ample time for parking and check-in.
Upon your early arrival, please enter our boutique area on your left so that our Guest Coordinators can warmly welcome you and check you in for your appointment. You will be provided with a pair of comfortable sanitized spa slippers; our slippers are light, easy to put on and off, and help us keep our beautiful spa debris free.
While you wait for your service to begin, make yourself at home in our cozy waiting area, where you can enjoy a glass of infused water, a cup of tea, or a small snack (please note outside food is prohibited in all spa areas). This is also a great time to browse our retail boutique, and to use the restroom to ensure an interruption-free service. You will be escorted by one of our expert licensed practitioners into the treatment room. Our rooms are comfortable and relaxing, and they include light tranquil music, heated tables, and clean crisp linens.
While at our facility, please use your “spa voice.” We ask that you respect the right to a quiet and calming atmosphere for all guests. Kindly refrain from talking loudly and turn off/silence all electronic devices.
Before your service begins, be sure to share any preferences, areas of focus, and/or health concerns with your provider – such as tightness in your back, or skin areas you would like to clear up – so that your treatment can be customized as much as possible. You will also be offered the opportunity to enhance your treatment with a beneficial addition, like CBD oil, essential oils, hand or foot treatments, and hot stones, to name a few. During your session, the practitioner will check in to ask how you are feeling. Please let them know if you are experiencing any pain or discomfort, prefer a different room or table temperature, or want any kind of adjustment. Be sure to speak up, as your comfort is our first priority!
If you are having multiple services with us, you will be offered a spa robe before you transition into the next service. Your next service provider will pick you up from our upstairs waiting area and continue with your ultimate spa day experience.
Before leaving, we ask that you visit our front desk, where our Guest Coordinators will inquire about your service and assist you with payment. You are also welcome to shop in our retail boutique, and don’t forget to book your next appointment with us.
Gratuities are optional and left to each guest’s discretion. They can be done using a credit/debit card or cash. Tips are retained in full by the provider(s) performing the service(s). Most guests leave an average of 20% gratuity for a job well-done. Tips are typically calculated based on the full, original price of the service (not a discounted price or a gift certificate value). If you receive multiple services from different providers (e.g., a massage from one person and a facial from another), it is customary to tip each person individually.
Proper aftercare is essential for maximizing the benefits of your treatment and reducing or preventing soreness, irritation, breakouts, and/or other complications. It allows your body and skin to recover and fully absorb the treatment provided and products used.
Staying hydrated before and after your service is critical. Drinking water before your treatment helps to prepare your muscles and skin, making them more responsive to massage, bodywork, and skincare. After your appointment, hydration helps flush out any toxins released during the treatment, reduces soreness, and enhances your overall results. Also, at the conclusion of your service, take your time to relax and allow your body to enjoy the moment. Be sure to follow the suggested aftercare instructions provided by your massage therapist, esthetician, and/or acupuncturist.
After your appointment, you will receive a customer care survey from us.
