Infrared heat is a form of energy that is directly transmitted into objects via its specific wavelength. While traditional saunas generate heat by circulating hot air, the infrared heat rays – usually in the 110-130°F range – warm you directly, penetrating up to 45mm into the body, where it can work on deep tissue and organs. Infrared heat is very gentle, similar to laying in the sun, but also allows a deep heat that is far superior to typical saunas from a health benefits perspective, and is more pleasant to experience. Infrared waves produce a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where most toxins reside. Read more about infrared sauna on our blog and learn about the benefits of our Sunlighten sauna below.
You may not use the sauna if you are pregnant, have hemophilia, fever, heat insensitivity, or history of seizures. Contraindications may include certain medications, cardiovascular conditions, alcohol use, certain chronic conditions, joint injury, and implants. We recommend you ask your physician before using the sauna if any of these apply.
The recommended infrared sauna session is 40 minutes. We require the first four sessions to be only 20 minutes in length for you to acclimate to the heat and experience and have a special bundled package. If coming in for other services, we recommend (but don’t require) you schedule the sauna first.
